Cork Bird House, by Minimal Cork
Cork is a 100% natural material, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly with good acoustic and thermal properties. Cork comes from the cork oak tree. Cork trees are gown extensively across the Iberian and Mediterranean basin, with Portugal producing 80% of the world’s supply. No trees are felled – the cork bark grows back and is harvested every nine years by using small axes to harvest or ‘strip’ the cork bark. A skilled task undertaken by local rural workers.
