Portugal has a big textile industry with a lot of factories producing high quality fashion for all of Europe. This generates a lot of waste material which is cut and turned into thread, much like a ball of yarn. The yarn may contain various textures and thickness, making the basket unique. Whilst it is the artisans intention that each piece closely resembles the form and colour featured in the image, slight variation may occur, and imperfections are a product of the recycled nature of the material.
