VALCHROMAT COLOURED ENGINEERED WOOD is not MDF but an innovative product coloured throughout that combines the natural features of wood with the brightness of colours; the beauty of textures and the best of engineering.
GREATER LOAD RESISTANT & EASY TO MACHINE, Valchromat is on average 30% stronger than MDF, and can be used for structural purposes, subject to your Structural Engineer’s approval. Due to the addition of lubricant resins in the wood chip composition, Valchromat has a greater internal cohesion, which gives it a high mechanical strength and bending resistance. Its higher resistance capacity is related to its composition and manufacturing process of wood chip with resin.

COLOURED THROUGHOUT, the colour remains, even after cutting or drilling, regardless of the size or depth of intervention. It does not require the use of paint or edging, thereby avoiding costly applied finishes. Easy to repair, scratches can be sanded out and finished to match the original appearance.
LOW MAINTENANCE, Valchromat requires little or no sanding, reducing labour costs and facilitating the finishing process.
PROTECTIVE FINISHES include Wax, and Varnish, (matte, glossy, aqueous polyurethane, UV resistant, fire resistant) supplied by Others. Valchromat is sold in its raw condition, unless stated.
NON-TOXIC Formaldehyde emissions are within limits set by European standards for wood-based materials.
MOISTURE RESISTANT, Valchromat can be used in kitchens, bathrooms and floors. It is suitable for indoors but can be used in protected outdoor applications, in which case it is necessary to varnish the boards on all surfaces and edges.
VALCHROMAT FIRE RETARDANT is available according to ignitability test and EN 13501, classified as B-s2, d0. Applications as per manufacturers guidelines. CDC Craft Design Construction accepts no liability for damage caused by fire or smoke.
